So, how long have we been recording the podcast? Little over a year. You think I know how to set up the audio equipment? No! I had dreams, a vision if you will, of the first audio blog post of the year. It was going to be spectacular! I was going to talk about Urban Heroes, by our very own T.J Lockwood. However, I set everything up, tested it, and… Nothing…
Ok, so. I took out the big box looking thing (You know, the on with the knobs). It says Behringer on the top, but I think that just the brand. So that’s down, and then I plugged into the power. And lights came on, so I’m good there. Then I grabbed a mic stand and one of the Neewer mics and fit them together. I don’t see how I could have messed any of that part up. Next, I took the cord and plugged into input 1, and the bottom of the mic. I mean, I could have messed this part up, but I doubt it. Finally, I grabbed the cord the goes from the Behringer to my computer and plugged in in like T.J does with her laptop each Sunday. I do not see where I could have messed this up!
My plan is to leave everything setup the way I have it until Steven gets here on Sunday. I know he’s going to look at me and call me stupid. And I’ve accepted that. Mainly because with my luck the problem if something super simple like, “did you hear it click?” That one always gets me. How am I supposed to know if it clicked or not when you put two things together!? I mean, yeah, in a perfect world everything would click, but we don’t live in a perfect world.
Anyways, next week will be audio. Topic: Urban Heroes. Assuming I didn’t just break all the equipment and that’s that problem. See, this is why I don’t touch things…
